Robin Close -
Chapter Chair
Growing up in Columbia, MD, where he continues to live and teach, Robin Close spent much of his childhood dreaming of big mountains and being a climber. While he still dreams of mountains and loves to take long walks among them at every opportunity, most of his actual climbing days are spent on tiny boulders.
He loves lowball traverses and awkward eliminates, and has an unusual obsession with featureless slabs. Robin loves climbing for the physical outlet and focus it provides him, but even more for the community he has found, and he is grateful for any opportunity to help others find the same connection that he has.
