Alex Rand - Chapter Chair

Alex was introduced to climbing while attending school in Los Angeles. After several memorable trips to Joshua Tree, he established the climbing club at Occidental College and began setting his sights on loftier climbing goals.

Upon moving to Michigan to pursue graduate school in chemistry, Alex fell in love with the Red River Gorge and has since traveled around the world in search of adventure. Back in California, Alex enjoys the ease of access and abundance of high- quality climbing that Los Angeles has to offer.

While more often than not, Alex can be found tied into the end of a rope at the local crag, he also enjoys reading, running, and seeing live music in his free time.

Sarah Reinstien - Communication Chair

Sarah began climbing one LA sunny day in April of 2019. She was a regular at her local gyms, until she discovered climbing outdoors. Now you can find her following her friends up Jtree cracks, or leading some sport routes at New Jack City. She's been in LA for almost 9 years and is just now scratching the surface of all the amazing climbing California has to offer! When not waking up super early to go climbing, you can probably find Sarah at a Pho restaurant, playing Elden Ring or baking some bread.

Eva Bonta - Events Chair

Eva first started climbing in 2020 while living in Knoxville, TN. She had visited a climbing gym a few times before, but it was not until she lived a 50-minute drive away from the beautiful Obed Wild and Scenic River natural area that she developed a love for climbing and the climbing community. Now based in Los Angeles, she can often be found exploring new crags and outdoor areas across Southern California with her boyfriend, Geoff, and pup, Obie. When not climbing, you can find Eva enjoying the outdoors hiking and backpacking or at the beach. She also loves cooking and trying new foods, traveling, and urban exploring.
