Originally from Central PA, a friend introduced me to climbing in college in 2006. I was immediately hooked on bouldering. I spent a majority of my college years in ‘God’s Country’ of Northern PA climbing and search for boulders. Many folks don’t realize the enormous amount of bouldering available in PA (PA is known as the rockiest section of the Appalachian Trial). Governor Dick Park, a popular area only 15 minutes from where I had grown up, became my second home. I spent every free moment there.

Eventually I got involved as a volunteer and organized a bouldering competition. Since the first event in 2011, there has been a competition every year raising lots of money for the park. I also teach two beginner classes a year, run an annual trail day, and wrote a comprehensive guidebook to the area. In 2015, I became vice-president of the South Central Pennsylvania Climbers, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting our climbing areas.
