Meet your Chapter Leader

Riley Kane -

Chapter Chair

I grew up in Clovis, CA reading and playing sports. I didn’t discover rocks until I went to New Hampshire for college, where I developed into a conscientious outdoorsman. With the help of fostering outdoor clubs, I became an EMT, led adventure trips, managed the climbing gym, supervised the Freshman orientation climbing program, taught a climbing PE class, and attained AMGA certification.

I value the climbing education I received, and desire to improve the quantity and quality of climbing educational opportunities. In the next few years, I hope to focus on community engagement and retention, stewardship, and education.

Michelle Waller - Conservation Chair

I grew up in Fresno camping and adventuring with my family in the scenic Sierra Nevada mountains. I worked at the local climbing gym for six years, immersing myself into the growing climbing community.

I have travelled to many different places, but the Fresno area is special; it is central to the various types of climbing and a wide variety of other outdoor recreational activities. I look forward to being in this position to protect the areas we love, and to serve as your Fresno Chapter steward.

Phil Sarkisian - Social Chair

California’s Central Valley has presented me with remarkable experiences like earning my BS in Physics from CSU Fresno and learning about the machinery of the world around us. It has been through outdoor recreation that I have experienced that machinery first-hand, as well as developed irreplaceable friendships, learned valuable lessons, and made my most precious memories. My aim is to connect, educate, and engage our community so that current and future generations can be transformed by our beloved third rock from the Sun.
